Dr. Shahid Gul
SPECIALIZATION: NEUROSURGERY
Dr. Shahid Gul graduated from the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine with his medical degree in 1999. He then completed his neurosurgical residency training at the University of British Columbia. This was followed by completion of a one year Neurosurgical Epilepsy Fellowship at the Austin Hospital in Australia in association with the University of Melbourne.
Dr. Gul is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is an active member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Canadian Neurosurgical Society.
Dr. Gul was recruited as a staff neurosurgeon at Lions Gate Hospital in 2006. In 2009, he was also recruited as a visiting specialist consultant at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia in Prince George. He continues to practice as a staff neurosurgeon at Lions Gate Hospital and at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia. As a neurosurgeon, his practice deals with the surgical treatment of spinal and cranial disorders. He has a particular focus on complex spinal disorders and minimally invasive spinal surgery. He is actively involved in neurosurgical education through his appointment with the University of British Columbia.
